Book NowThe Problem We Solve
Generative AI software and large language models (LLMs) are powerful tools that can save your time, make you more productive, or extend your capabilities. But they also have real limitations and can make mistakes.
This workshop covers how and when to use LLMs for non-technical professionals such as investors, analysts, and corporate finance & professional services practitioners.
As a live, interactive event, you’ll get the chance to bring problems from your work, discuss how to solve them, and troubleshoot issues together.
We will use Anthropic’s Claude to cover case studies. The underlying principles will apply to any LLM.
What You’ll Learn
You will not need any previous experience with LLMs. At the end of the course, you should:
- Know when to use LLMs and when to use other tools instead.
- Understand how to write effective prompts using a simple framework.
- Understand how to prompt the LLM to do the following:
Time Saver
Convert unstructured information into organised formats.
Assessor
Evaluate documents against criteria or a reference.
Coach
Learn new concepts or skills in an interactive way.
Pattern-Joiner
Identify trends or connections across many documents.
Research Assistant
Search for many new sources and quickly summarise information.
- Leave with prompts you can use in your work and a handout containing reference materials.

Your Facilitator
I approach this from the perspective of a practitioner and subject matter expert. With fifteen years in financial markets, combining listed markets (A-REIT) research, deal execution in private equity, and independent consulting, I understand professional workflows and what separates an effective process from busywork. This lets me understand when and how to incorporate LLMs into processes to make them more efficient.
My corporate workshop has been rated 4.83/5 by participants, and I have presented to CFA Society Australia members on generative AI for investment analysts, drawing 245 registrations.
