Generative AI software and large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Gemini, and Microsoft’s Copilot are powerful tools that can save time, make a team more productive, or extend its capabilities. But they also have real limitations and can make mistakes.
This workshop covers how and when to use LLMs for non-technical professionals such as executives, managers, investors, and professional services. It is tech-agnostic so these principles work with any tool. As a live, interactive event, you’ll get the chance to bring problems from your work, discuss how to solve them, and troubleshoot issues together.
What You’ll Learn
You will not need any previous experience with LLMs. At the end of the course, you should:
- Know when to use LLMs and when not to use them.
- Understand how to write effective prompts using a simple framework.
- Understand how to prompt the LLM to do the following:

Convert unstructured information into organised formats.

Evaluate documents against criteria or a reference.

Learn new concepts or skills in an interactive way.
Pattern-Joiner
Identify trends or connections across many documents.
Research Assistant
Search for many new sources and quickly summarise information.

Format
This is a live, 3-hour course (virtual or in-person in Sydney, Australia). It can be delivered on your team’s LLM of choice and with examples tailored to your organisation’s needs.
Your Facilitator
I approach this from the perspective of a practitioner and subject matter expert. With fifteen years in financial markets, combining listed markets (A-REIT) research, deal execution in private equity, and independent consulting, I understand professional workflows and what separates an effective process from busywork. This lets me understand when and how to incorporate LLMs into processes to make them more efficient.
